Galentine’s Day in Wichita: Celebrating Friendship, Community, and Local Love
Galentine’s Day has officially become one of my favorite times of the year, and Wichita did not disappoint. Over the past few weeks, our city has been buzzing with Galentine’s Day parties, pop-ups, and events centered around friendship, self-love, and supporting local creatives. From cozy gatherings to packed vendor events, it’s been a beautiful reminder of how special time with friends — and community — really is.
There’s something extra meaningful about setting aside time to celebrate the people who show up for us day in and day out. Life gets busy, schedules fill up, and it’s easy to push connection to the side. Galentine’s Day flips that script. It’s about laughing a little louder, lingering a little longer, and choosing to be present with the people we love — whether that’s lifelong friends, chosen family, or new connections you didn’t know you needed.
This past weekend was one of several Galentine’s Day pop-up events happening in and around Wichita, and it was such a fun experience at Globella Salon. Before we were even fully set up, there was already a line out the door - So amazing! Seeing so many people excited to come out, shop small, and celebrate together was incredibly heart-warming.
One of the best parts of these Galentine’s events is the spotlight they shine on local artists and small businesses. Wichita has so much talent, and these pop-ups create a space where creativity and community meet. From handmade goods to art, gifts, and unique experiences such as permanent jewelry! it’s inspiring to watch local artists connect directly with people who genuinely appreciate their work.
Galentine’s Day isn’t just about cute themes and pink décor (though those are definitely a bonus because I love when my drink matches my outfit!) It’s about making memories with the people who make your life brighter. Whether you attended a pop-up, hosted a girls’ night, grabbed coffee with a friend, or simply checked in on someone you care about — that time matters.
As Galentine’s celebrations continue throughout the month, I hope this serves as a reminder to keep pouring into your friendships and your community. Saturday the 7th: Mane Rivival Salon in Derby 10am - Noon Champagne and Chains! Stop in anytime and come check out the permanent jewelry chains!
